Winemakers Vineyard Notes: Located on the southwest edge of Sebastopol this steeply-sloped, southeasterly facing hillside is planted half in Swan clones and half in 777 clones. Morning fog, warm midday sun, cool afternoon breezes, and Goldridge Loams soils all contribute to a world-class site for growing Pinot Noir. Sustainably farmed.
Winemakers Tasting Notes: All three vintages are stainless steel fermented, 100% French oak-aged in 35% new oak barrels. Bottled unfined, unfiltered. 2007 showcases a dark cherry and cranberry nose with a silky mouthful of dark cherry, boysenberry, and plum. Year 2009 brought us back to nature, with notes of wild strawberries, forest floor, and cedar. The unforgettable 2012 vintage gave us a beautiful wine that is darker in color than in years past. A very diverse nose of spicy rhubarb, clove, red meats and what we like to call animale.
