The 2015 Qupé Dodgers Red Blend is a combination of 50% Syrah, 25% Grenache and 25% Mourvedre grapes, primarily from the French Camp Vineyard in Paso Robles and from the Sawyer Lindquist Vineyard in the Edna Valley.
The wine was made using a combination of small open top fermenters with manual punch down and larger closed top tanks using pump overs. The different lots were aged separately in neutral French oak barrels for 20 months before blending and bottling.
On the palate, the Syrah gives the wine a bright spiced berry character, the Grenache lends a more lifted wild cherry component, and the Mourvedre imparts an earthy, smoked meat note. This delicious wine is ready to enjoy with a grilled Dodger dog at the tailgate, or save a bottle as a souvenir to commemorate the big win!
