Vineyard Notes: Organically farmed, cool climate site. A low-yielding vintage with a very long, cool growing season. Harvested on October 29th and November 6th.
Winemaker’s Tasting Notes: Aged for 28 months in neutral French oak barrels, sur lees. Dark ruby in color with purple hues on the edges. Big, spicy nose full of white pepper, strawberry Fig Newton, cassis, red meats, and fennel. Secondary aromas of floral cherry blossoms, green peppercorn, rosemary, and lavender. Big velvety mouthful of ripe plum, and chalky ripe tannins give way to a very long finish of spicy raspberry and mulberry, with hints of dark chocolate and tobacco.
