Vosne-Romanée, revered for its illustrious Grand Cru sites, is located less than three miles north of the bustling town of Nuits Saint-Georges in the heart of Côte de Nuits. The vineyards form a spectacular backdrop to this unpretentious, little village. The village has been a known source of quality wines for over a thousand years, and still today nearly every inhabitant is involved in the production of wine. The old vine parcels, 46 to 52 years old, reside on thin, but well-drained, clay-limestone soils, topped with pebbles and limestone scree.
This Pinot Noir from Vosne-Romanée displays pretty fruit and just a hint of sweetness. Bold on the entry, the old vines and balanced acidity play well with the subtle tannins to keep all elements of this wine in elegant harmony.
