Meursault is an ancient wine producing area five miles south of Beaune. There are no Grand Cru vineyards in Meursault, however, the Premier Crus are rightfully renowned. Les Genevrières is one of the top three Premier Cru vineyards in the appellation and is located in the southern end of Meursault in Côte de Beaune.
The most celebrated vineyards sit to the south of the village. Les Genevrières vineyard site itself is 40.5 acres situated on limestone slopes facing south and southeast, thus capitalizing on the ripening potential of the morning and early afternoon sun.
The wines from this area are known to combine the elegance of Perrières with the power of Charmes. With this perfect combination of power and finesse, the wines are never too minerally nor too rich. Nuanced and cerebral, this wine is fragrant and feminine on the nose and is very complex on the palate, layered with classic hazelnut, minerality and acidity with delicate flavors of honey and verbena with a hint of white smoke, finishing with a dense palate.
