2010 Wind Gap Brosseau Vineyard Chardonnay Image

2010 Wind Gap Brosseau Vineyard Chardonnay

Planted in the mid 1970s in the historically significant Chalone appellation of Monterey County, these decomposed granite covered slopes have ribbons of Limestone that snake through them. The resulting wine tastes of pure liquid minerals, unencumbered by any new wood or excessive ripeness…in other words a classic Chablisean styled Chardonnay.

Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
This wine smells of oyster shells, wet marble, lemon curd, white peach and kafir lime. Intensely focused with brilliant acidity on the attack, that leads into a very richly textured mid-palate that explodes with complex star fruit, white peach, minerals and marble. The persistence and depth of this wine is impressive and is very apparent in the long mineral driven finish that lingers until your mouth waters for another sip.
